This is an amazing tour is for people that want to be submersed in the wild jungles of Costa Rica in the Osa Peninsula. It is not for the faint of heart. The hike is 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) one way to your campsite at the Sirena ranger station.
The tour starts off from Puerto Jimenez at 5:30 am with a 4×4 jungle drive to the Corcovado national park ranger station and park entrance where your hike will begin. The 20-kilometer hike is through the jungle on rugged pathways. The hike can be difficult and hot. Deep in the jungle, you will arrive sweaty and dirty but amazed at the plant and animal life you have seen along the way. Expect to see toucans, monkeys, macaws, coatis, sloths, anteaters, maybe even large cats and more.
Your professional guide will point out animal life, flora, and fauna, explain the history of the park, and can answer all your questions.
Once at the ranger station where you will be spending the night where you will relax with a great meal and a well-earned sleep.
The next morning is another early start! After breakfast, you will hike along a second trail towards the coastline and its pristine beaches. Following the coast, you will reach a third ranger station where you will be picked up for the drive back to Puerto Jimenez.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU LISTEN TO YOUR GUIDES INSTRUCTIONS. DO NOT WONDER OFF ON YOUR OWN AND NEVER LEAVE THE PATH.
