Just 90 minutes from the Arenal volcano is the famed turquoise blue waters of Rio Celeste, occurring when two river systems mix causing this magical blue color.
Your guides will pick you up at your lodging* around 7:30 am and drive to the Tenorio Volcano national park. Here you will enter the park and your guide will take you along the trails at a slow pace so you can enjoy the surroundings, keeping a sharp eye out for bird and animal life. The hike is approximately 6 kilometers (3 miles) and is on well-maintained walkways.
Once you reach the Rio Celeste waterfalls you can take the stairs down to the river level to get a fantastic view of the blue water. It is such an amazing electric blue color you will not believe your eyes. Make sure you have your camera handy.
After hiking back through the beautiful park you will be treated to a delicious Costa Rican lunch before heading back to your lodging.
This is a wonderful way to see some remote areas of Costa Rica.
The tour length is approximately 7 hours.
