The beautiful waters around Costa Rica are teeming with fish life and the ideal location to cast a line.

Costa Rica has world-class fishing close to shore ideal for anglers of all skill levels and all ages. Since fishing is close to the coast you can have a line in the water within minutes for more time fishing.

Nearshore fishing in Costa Rica means you can catch Yellow and Black Fin Tuna, Red snapper (Pargo), Mahi-Mahi, Dorado, Corvina, Grouper, and Roosterfish just to name a few. You can keep many of these fish.  The boat crews will often clean them, so you cook the fish at home or take to a local restaurant.

Another advantage of being close to shore is the waters are usually calm too.

There is a huge selection of boats available depending on your location. You can choose from local pangas that are usually 7 to 11 meters (23 to 36 feet) with a single, smaller outboard. One step up is center console boats usually 7 to 13 meters (23 to 43 feet) with large single or dual outboards. The next option is fishing charters that can range from 7 to 15 meters (23 to 49 feet) with single or dual inboard motors, heads, and a flying bridge. At the top of the list are cabin cruisers (yachts) that can be 20 meters (66 feet) or more.

The most popular option and a happy medium for nearshore fishing are the center console and fishing charter boats.

We will find you the boat and captain to suit your budget.
