Costa Rica is a fantastic country to Scuba Dive whether you are a beginner and want to take lessons or you have thousands of dives under your belt. We can offer you what you are looking for.
Costa Rica is blessed with many shallow dive sites of 12 meters (40 feet) or less that are amazing. Everything from coral reef gardens to shark caves, wall diving, and diving for wrecks. We have whales, giant mantas, huge groupers, colorful fish, and plenty of sharks if that is what you are looking for. There are also deeper dives for the more advanced.
On the East coast are diving wildlife reserves with coral reefs in sheltered bays, inlets, and islands dotted along the coast. There are around 35 species of coral and an abundance of colorful fish, dolphins and even manatees await you.
On the South-West coast, you can find all-year-round clear visibility of 30 meters (100 feet). This area is a place for migrating whales that include humpback and orca. There are bull, nurse, white-tip sharks, and whale sharks too. Plenty of vibrant reefs, huge rock pinnacles, and colorful fish. Do not be surprised if you are visited by dolphins, giant mantas of 6 meters (20 feet), or have turtles swim by.
In Guanacaste, the North-West coast of Costa Rica is world-famous for shark diving. A small group of islands about an hour off the coast is home to large white-tip, tiger and whale sharks, giant mantas, devil, eagle, bullseye, and bay rays, several species of turtles, and large schools of fish including barracuda and spiny scorpionfish, humpback and orca whales have been seen nearby. Waters are warm and visibility of 24 meters (80 feet) is not uncommon. If the conditions are right, not too far away from the islands is Shark Alley.
Offered are morning and afternoon dives, 2, and 3 tank dives. For the beginner there are Discovery dives with pool training. PADI Certification classes are also available.
Tours include transportation* to the dive shop, divemasters, equipment, boat, beverages, fruits, and snacks.
2 tank prices start at $120 for certified divers, $150 for discovery dive.
